From Mad Tuesday to Liberation. Our longest year of war. Much has been written about 'the Netherlands 1940-1945' since the end of the war. However, we know of remarkably few publications that are devoted exclusively to the last year of the war in the Netherlands, a year that is unprecedented in terms of exciting and dramatic events. About that short and yet so long period, September 1944 to May 1945, we want to give an impression in words and images. With, among other things, the liberation of South Limburg, Operation Market-Garden; the battle for the bridges, the jump to Walcheren and the hunger winter.
